World Junior Championships 2009 will be in Paris

IJF officially confirms that the World Junior Championships, previously scheduled for Athens/GRE from 22 to 25th of August, will no longer take place in the Greece Capital.

Instead, the competition will be hosted by France, in Paris, at the Coubertin sports hall. The dates of the event however remain the same.

The decision was taken after a series of conversation with the Athens Organizers. Since some requirements were not fulfilled in time, IJF decided to give it to another host city. Although Greece has worked hard to receive the event, some important tests will be carried on in the World Junior Championships 2009, regarding competition and refereeing rules and therefore IJF consider it is important to provide both athletes, referees and officials with the best possible organization.
