Popular Vote Decides on the Best Athletes of the Year 2014
The prize has been promoted by the International Judo Federation through voting on its Facebook’s page
Thousands of judo fans worldwide participated in the voting for the “Award for the Best Athlete of the Year 2014” organized by the International Judo Federation. The votes were cast through the entity’s official Facebook page. The results went public last Wednesday, February 25th.
The award had five categories in dispute: Best Female Judoka, Best Male Judoka, Best Team, Revelation Judoka and Tournament of the Year. Brazil did not have representatives among the nominees, despite Mayra Aguiar’ s achievements, world senior champion in 2014 and Rafael Macedo’s, world junior champion in 2014.
The winning athletes will receive an IJF certificate and five fans will be drawn for official souvenirs from the Federation.
