The 2015 IJF World Judo Tour Is Launched After the Seminar from Budapest

The 2015 IJF World Judo Tour consists of 21 events: four World Championships (including the Veterans), 1 World Masters, 5 Grand Slams and 11 Grand Prix. This week the organisers of all these events have met in Budapest to share experiences and knowledge.

During the two-day seminar, every IJF department made an extensive presentation of the requirements to produce top level worldwide events. Sport matters, floor management, Judogi control and pre-event organization, TV and Media, education, information technology, protocol and medical aspects were among the subjects that were discussed.

“Judo has finally created a product and the World Judo Tour is like a shop window. This is the best we can offer to the world. said Vladimir Barta, IJF Head Sport Director.

“We have created a professional team responsible for each and every detail. Our goal is not just keeping the level we’ve reached, but we also want to improve.”

“ Starting with Masters 2015 every competition will be counting 100% for the Olympic qualification. It means more athletes and more responsibility, but also more benefits for Judo and all of us.” said Larisa Kiss, Director of the Presidential Office, adding: “We have a common goal and mission: to develop Judo. For that we can build on success of London 2012 Olympic Games and achieve more for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.”

n the area of digital media, the IJF is in the TOP 5 of the International Federations (more than 520,000 fans on FB, almost 8 million views on YouTube, 25,000 followers on Twitter and more than 15,000 on Instagram).

www.judobase.org has also become an innovative platform to promote judo and it is free to the public.

“Judo is more and more dynamic and the look and feeling is very important. We have to produce a top class international signal and now all events are broadcasted in HD which helps us to create heroes.” said Vlad Marinescu, IJF TV and Marketing Advisor, adding: “An event is a place where the heroes can participate and show their best. We need to have many media activities, we are making the events global and each national federation can shine over the five continents”.

The first event of this season will be the Düsseldorf Judo Grand Prix, which will be held in Germany from February 20th to 22nd. It will be followed by the Tbilisi Grand Prix in Georgia and the Samsun Grand Prix in Turkey.
