World Masters will be the last qualifying competition for the Rio Games and Grand Slam of Paris opens again the World Tour.

After Including the Olympics, IJF Releases the Competitions Calendar for 2016

The major international judo competitions from next year have already confirmed dates. The International Judo Federation, which regulates the sport, released on Monday, May 11th, the first version of the IJF Calendar 2016. The last qualifying competition for the 2016 Games will be the World Masters, which will take place on May 28th and 29th in a place to be defined.

In addition, the traditional Grand Slam of Paris will again be held at the beginning of the year, opening the World Circuit on February 6th and 7th. In 2015, due to the renovations at Palais Omnisports de Bercy, the French stage was postponed until October.

Finally, the calendar marks the dates of judo competition at the Olympics. The great moment of sport will be from August 6th to August 12th, at the Carioca 2 Arena inside the Olympic Park from Barra da Tijuca.
