Olympic and World Champions Will Use a Different Color for their Back Numbers

From the beginning of 2014, when the International Judo Federation start again their activities, the current olympic and world champions will receive a greater emphasis whenever they reach the mat. The back numbers of major champions of world tours will be highlighted with a color different from their counterparts.

The London 2012 Olympic champions will use the back number in gold, whereas the gold winners at the Rio World Championships will have their name and country of origin in red. The other athletes will wear the traditional blue.

The released photo of the new models of back numbers is the Brazilian world champion’s, Rafaela Silva, who competes in the Brazil Olympic Awards 2013 for the Best Athlete of the Year and you can still vote by clicking here. The award ceremony will take place on 17/12.
