Motivated by their Pan Achievements, the Brazilian Junior Athletes Board for the World Tour stages in Europe
23 Brazilian judokas will fight in Prague and Berlin over the next weekends. These competitions are worth the last points for the national junior ranking before the World Judo Championships.
In the coming weekend, 23 Brazilian Junior athletes will represent the country in the stages of the World Tour in Prague, on July 25th and 26th, and in Berlin, on August 1st and 2nd. The delegation boards on Wednesday, 22nd, to the capital of the Czech Republic.
The competitions will be the last opportunities for athletes to score for the national junior ranking. This system is used by the Brazilian Judo Confederation as one of the criteria for the convocation to the World Junior Championships, which will take place between October 15th and 29th, in Abu Dhabi, the Arab United Emirates. The champion receives 200 points, while the second-placed gets 140 and the bronze awarded scores 100 points.
This is the junior athletes’ second commitment in July. Two days ago, a part of the delegation who is going to Europe competed in the Pan American Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica. The positive performance of 11 gold, three silver and a bronze medal is the motivational factor for the team.
