Lothar Matthaus says football could learn from judo

The former captain of the German Team, Lothar Matthaus, said football has a lot to learn from judo. Voted best player in the world by FIFA in 1991, Matthaus was the special guest of the IJF during the Grand Prix in Düsseldorf.

“Judo is a sport that combines discipline and rules with the same degree of importance. Football has a lot to learn with that. With the new rules, judo will be a more transparent sport”, said Matthaus.
