IJF Organizes a Course for the Judo Teachers from Seychelles

The coaches from Seychelles had the opportunity to participate in a technical course organized on the Mahe Island, the largest island of the archipelago - country. The person who delivered the course was the French professor Hassen Ikhlef. Eighteen local teachers, eleven men and six women, took part in activities that lasted for nine days, from October 17th to October 26th. The International Judo Federation was the institution which organized the event.

The coaches attended a theory course and had two sessions of practical demonstrations and trainings per day, the second part being focused on the Tachi-waza and Ne-waza techniques. The theoretical part included historical aspects of judo, arbitration, Japanese and European methodologies, as well as discussions on how to teach the sport to different target audiences, according to the specific particularities, as the participants’ age. The sport’s popularization and the judo development in the African country were also debated by the students.
