There were seven gold, six silver and two bronze medals. The team is now heading to Berlin, next weekend’s stage.

Brazil Wins 15 Medals in Prague, a Stage of the World Junior Circuit

Brazil won 15 medals this weekend in Prague, a stage of the World Junior Circuit. The Brazilian athletes won seven gold, six silver and two bronze medals.

The team started well the  competition by winning six medals on Saturday, 25th . Larissa Farias (44kg), Kamilla Silva (57kg) and Daniel Cargnin (66kg) were the big winners of the day and put the country on the highest place on the European podium.

The women extra-lightweight category had two Brazilian winners: Rita Reis, who won the bronze medal, and Larissa Farias. The women's team also won a silver with Jessica Lima (52kg) on the first day.

Regarding men’s performance, besides the gold won by Cargnin, Lucas Guimarães reached the third place of the podium on Saturday.

On Sunday, the fights continued and the Brazilians went to podium nine times, after winning four gold and five silver medals.

Camila Gebara (+ 78kg), Henrique Francini (90kg), Leonardo Gonçalves (100kg) and João Marcos Cesarino (+ 100kg) were the champions in their respective categories. The silver came with Aléxia Castilhos (63kg), Isabela Sanches (78kg), Ellen Furtado (+ 78kg), Tiago Pinho (81kg) and Hugo Praxedes (+ 100kg).

From Prague the team will head to Berlin, where they will compete in the next stage of the World Junior Circuit over the next weekend.
