Douglas Vieira, the coach of the men's team, highlighted the importance of the training in this final days before the World Junior Championship.
"There are four weeks left until the World Championship and we need to train harder, so we thought the best way we could do it was gathering together with our senior team and the Japanese one. This will make them more responsible. We will not overcharge them with the training, but it’s good for them because they will grab hard kimonos " Douglas Vieira said, adding: "The men's team is well prepared to make a good performance. We have no prognosis of medals, but we want them to get there in the best condition to fight well”.
The men's team will be formed by Luiz Cláudio Lima Junior (55kg / SP), Vitor Carvalho (60kg / SP), Ricardo Santos Junior (66kg / MG), Gabriel Pinheiro (66kg / PE), Lincoln Neves (73kg / SP), Rafael Macedo (81kg / RS), Eduardo Santos (81kg / SP), Thiago Chiodi (90kg / SP), Gabriel Souza (100kg / SP) and João Cesarino (100kg + / RS).
The women's team, composed of Larissa Farias (44kg / MS), Tawany Silva (48kg / SP), Jessica Pereira (52kg / RJ), Tamires Crude Silva (57kg / RJ), Flavia Gomes (57kg / SP), Danielle Karla Oliveira (63kg / TN), Mariana Veiga (70kg / MS), Sibilla Faccholli (78kg + / SP) and Camila Gebara (+ 78kg / MS), will be led by the coach Andrea Berti, who stressed on the main goal of the immersion.
"The goal of the immersion is to make athletes be totally focused on the World Judo Championship. The idea is that as we have some time, the coaches can make a further analysis of each individual athlete. Since we go from here straight to the World Judo Championships, the interventions and guidelines that will be made, will be fresher in their memory and may be used more easily in the championship, " Andrea Berti said, adding: "The women's team is fairly homogenous with many athletes who competed in last year’s World Championship and who have already competed in Europe, so we are quite confident in doing a good work," he concluded.
The coaching coordinator Marcelo Silva, the coaching adviser Edmilson Guimarães, the physiotherapists Ricardo Amadei and Gustavo Braga, the fitness coach Armando Gonzalez, the doctor Mateus Saito, the psychologist Mariana Correa as well as the nutritionist Patricia Vieira join the coaching team who supervises the athletes’ activities.
