There Are Four Brazilian Judokas Leading the World Ranking
The International Judo Federation has updated the world ranking after the Grand Slam Tokyo. There are four Brazilian judokas leading the World Ranking: Rafael Silva is again the best heavyweight athlete, after having won a silver medal in Japan and thus scored more points than Teddy Riner. The World champion, Rafaela Silva, on the fifth position this weekend, finally reached the top of the lightweight female judokas. Sarah Menezes, the extra-light athlete, and the half heavyweight one, Mayra Aguiar, are leaders of their categories as well. Erika Miranda and Maria Suellen Altheman are the second best middle lightweight and heavyweight athletes. The other top 10 Brazilian athletes are: Ketleyn Quadros (the sixth lightweight judoka), Mariana Barros (ninth half middleweight) David Moura (seventh placed in the heavyweight category), Walter Santos (eighth heavyweight), Victor Penalber (third half middleweight), Charles Chibana (fifth half-light) and Felipe Kitadai (fifth in extralight).
