The Junior National Team Comes Back to Brazil after the Training Camp from Leibnitz, Austria
After the positive result in the European Junior Cup - one of the strongest competitions of the World Junior Circuit - and the subsequent Training Camp from Leibnitz, Austria, the Brazilian junior team landed in Brazil today, June 4th.
The men's team is composed of Luiz Claudio Lima Junior ( 55kg/SP ) , Vitor Carvalho ( 60kg/SP ) , Gabriel Pinheiro ( 66kg/PE ) , Ricardo Santos Júnior ( 66kg/MG ) , Caio Brigida ( 73kg/SP ) , Eduardo Santos ( 81kg/SP ) , Rafael Macedo ( 81kg/RS ) , Leonardo Gonçalves ( 90kg/SP ) , Thiago Chiodi ( 90kg/SP ) , Dario Alves ( 100kg/SP ) and João Cesarino Silva ( +100 kg / RS ) whereas the women’s team is represented by Larissa Farias ( 44kg/RJ ) , Tawany Silva (48kg/SP) , Jessica Pereira ( 52kg/RJ ) , Flavia Gomes ( 57kg/SP ) , Tamires Silva ( 57kg/RJ ) , Erika Ferreira ( 63kg/CE ), Danielle Karla Oliveira ( 63Kg/RJ ) , Aine Schmidt ( 70kg/SP ) , Pamella Souza ( 78kg/SP ) and Sibilla Faccholli ( +78 kg / SP ). All of them had the opportunity to acquire more experience by gripping their foreign counterparts’ judoguis and know better the judo particularities outside Brazil in another training camp.
On the last day in Leibnitz, Larissa Farias, bronze medalist in the extra light category ( 44kg ) , said on her page that she would come back to Brazil . After a hard day of training, she quoted a phrase from Winston Churchill. “Among the dead and wounded, everyone were saved," and completed: " Here we come, Brazil ".
Tamires Crude, judoka in the lightweight category ( 52kg ), also shared her coming back, with a photo of her and teammates . "Last day here in Austria. Here we come, Brazil."
The coach assistant Marcelo Theotonio, the coaches Douglas Vieira and Andrea Berti, the psychologist Mariana Correa, the nutritionist Patricia Vieira and the physiotherapists Gustavo Braga and Cliff Ferreira, joined the Brazilian delegation in Austria and cared for the athletes’ activities throughout their stay in this country.
The young judokas’ next appointment is the Pan American Junior Championship, which will be held between July 10th to 13th in El Salvador. The first placed in the national ranking are automatically qualified for the competition. A list with the names of the athletes who will represent Brazil will be soon posted on the BJC ‘s website.
