The Junior National Team Are Training with their Senior Counterparts in Paris

After the season’s first major competition, the Grand Slam from Paris, held on February 8th  and 9th, the Brazilian Senior Team are still in the French capital, where they  prepare for the Opens from Oberwart and Rome with the training camp involving athletes participating in the tournament. Along with the national senior team, the junior members, who were already performing on-site activities during last week, joined some of the strongest world teams in the after- Slam training.

“Since there is no concern on competition performance right now, it’s a good time when the junior national team can train; the athletes can get better focused. The training is Senior-designed, but many countries are with their junior teams, providing our athletes the chance to train with the world best ones and even with some of the opponents they will face during this year, \"said the coach of the Junior National Team, Douglas Vieira.

For the athletes, the training is an opportunity to get in touch with the newest aspects of the international judo as well as with the different types of schools and the gap between them and their senior counterparts. Because of the good performance in the Selective Rio 2016 - Part II held in 2013, Isadora Pereira, an athlete from Minas Tennis Club could, at 18 years, be included in the high performance area, which means she will be in both in the coming months, so she has the chance to follow closely the complicated steps she will have to take in her junior years and maybe in future as a Senior.

\"I hope this week will be very productive and I can take the opportunity to train with the best in my category on the world stage, gaining experience. I know it will be a hard work, but I will make the most of this opportunity,\" Isadora said.

The junior team stays in France this week and come back to Brazil on Friday, February 14th.
