One more referee IJF A
The Brazilian judo has one more referee member of the IJF A, which is the elite group of the International Judo Federation. This membership entitles the referee to take part in the main events scheduled on the international calendar. Laedson Lopes, from Rio Grande do Norte, is the youngest Brazilian to hold this title. Considering Laedson’s promotion, today’s Board of the Brazilian Judo Confederation gathers 11 referees who have been promoted since Paulo Wanderley Teixeira was elected.
Laedson Lopes was approved within the IJF A this weekend, at the World Cup from Budapest, Hungary. All the person responsible for the IJF’s refereeing participated in the event.
“There were 15 candidates; among the eight approved was I, as Brazil’s representative. Traditional countries such as Great Britain, France and the United States did not succeed to get the position and I must say that I am very happy for having been the elected one,” states the 35-year-old Laedson, the youngest Brazilan approved by the IJF A.
The president of the Brazilian Judo Confederation, Paulo Wanderley Teixeira, considers that the refereeing is as important as the entity’s other departments.
“Congratulations to Laedson for his fantastic achievement led as a result of his proficiency, determination and devotion. All this was made possible by many people’s hard work, including the ones from the Rio Grande do Norte Federation and the National Arbitration Council”, states Paulo Wanderley.
The referees entitled to this office during Paulo Wanderley’s presidency are listed as follows: André Mariano dos Santos, Carlos Alberto de Castro Barreto, Chuno Wanderley Mesquita, Dannys Queiroz, Edilson Hobold, Edison Koshi Minakawa, Jeferson Vieira, José Pereira Silva, Paulo Cezar de Oliveira Ferreira e Silvio Acacio Borges.
