Brazilian Team Boards This Wednesday to Peru for the South American Under-15 and Under-13 Championship

The Brazilian delegation is composed of 27 judokas

The youngest generation of Brazilian judokas boards on Wednesday, November 19^th, to Lima, capital of Peru, in order to compete in the South American Under-13 and Under-15 Championship. The event will take place from November 20^th to 23^rd and the fights will be held at the College of Engineering and Architecture of San Martin University.

In this edition, the Brazilian delegation will be composed of 27 judokas and seven members of BJC who represent the Technical Committee. In the Under-15 category, the country will be represented by seven male athletes and five female ones. In the Under-13 there will be eight boys and seven girls defending the green-yellow colors.

Brazil is well-known for training judokas in the South America and represents an important judo worldwide center. Thus, it is worth mentioning the country's performance in championships different from senior ones: in 2013 the Brazilians won 25 of 32 possible gold medals, placing the country on the top of the podium in the South American Under-15 and Under-13 Championships held in Santiago, Chile.

"This international performance reflects the investment we have made at national level, namely the Brazilian Under-15 and Under-13 Championships and other events where these young judokas become more experienced and get better prepared for South American competitions, "said Marcelo Theotonio, BJC’s Manager of Cadets and Juniors.
