Brazil Gets 11 Gold and 3 Silver Medals in the South American Under-13 Championship
The results made the country get the first overall place in the category
The young U-13 judokas will come back from Peru, where the competed in the South American U-13 and U-15 Championship, bringing home 14 medals: 11 gold and 3 silver. These awards put the country on the top of the overall podium of the category. The U-13 took place this Friday and the U-15 take place on Saturday, November 22nd.
Regarding men’s performance, the champions were João Vitor Oliveira da Luz (28kg), João Marcelo Morato de Oliveira (31kg), Nicolas Matheus de Almeida (34kg), Matheus Roberto Pereira (47kg), Igor Flavio Gonçalves de Vale (52kg) and Carlos Eduardo Silva de Macedo (+ 52kg). Daniel Santos Damasceno took the silver medal in the up-to-42 kg category.
The girls also did well and they got five gold and two silver awards. Isabela Santos Leite (31kg), Laura Ayumi Soken (34kg), Thauany David Capini Dias (38kg), Nauana Aparecida das Dores Lopes da Silva (47kg) and Luiza Raymundo Laska (52kg) rose on top of the podium, while Mariana de Carvalho (28kg) and Louise Costa de Andrade (+ 52kg) got the silver.
