Apart from the Training Camps, the Brazilian Junior and Cadet Teams Will Participate in Two More Competitions

The Brazilian Junior Team is taking part in a training camp in Tokyo. They are preparing for the World Junior Championship which will be organized in October. As soon as they come back they will have another period of training, in San Jose, Santa Catarina . Meanwhile, Brazil will send junior and cadets representatives to two more competitions: the UK Student Games and the South American Youth Games.

This Tuesday, the Brazilian delegation that will represent the Brazilian judo in the UK Student Games arrived to the Queen’s Land. The competition will be held from Friday (15/9) to Sunday (17/9), in the Ice Sheffield Pad 2 Venue, Sheffield. Six athletes join the coach Douglas Potrich: Larissa Farias ( 48kg , Judo Rocha / MS ) , Erika Ferreira ( 63kg , Revarte / CE ) , Isadora Pereira ( +70 kg Minas / MG ) , Ariel Alencar ( 60kg , AJ Harai Goshi / GO ) , Luiz Nogueira Filho ( 73kg , SCI Madre Celeste / PA ) and Guilherme Melo ( +81 kg Minas / MG ) . Larissa, Erika, Isadora, Luiz and Guilherme will join the team that will participate in the training camp from Santa Catarina , from October 3rd to October 7th.

From September 26th to September 28th the judo competition will be held in the first edition of the South American Youth Games. The event created by the South American Sports Organization tries to replicate on the continent the success of the Youth Olympic Games that IOC organized according to the Olympic Games for young athletes aged between 14 and 18 years old. There will be four Brazilian representatives , joined by the coach- advisor Edmilson Leite and the coach Douglas Potrich : Thais Kondo ( 44kg , Judo Lemanczuk / PR) , Layana Colman ( 52kg , Judo Rocha / MS ) , Leonardo Arruda ( 55kg , Jequiá / Umbra / RJ ) and Lélio Puggina Junior ( 66kg , Minas / MG ) .

\"For athletes, it is very important to participate in this competition similar to the Olympics. They will travel together with Brazilian athletes from other sports, and so they can have the different experience than they are used \", said the BJC’s coach- advisor, Edmilson Leite.
