After Winning Ten Medals in the European Cup from Liberec /CZE, the Junior Team Goes to Germany
This Wednesday ends the training camp after the European Cup from Liberec, Czech Republic. The Brazilians were very successful in the championship whose mats had its flag’s colors and won ten medals: gold for Vitor Torrente (55kg) and Tawany Silva (44kg); silver for Ricardo Santos Júnior (66kg) and bronze for Gabriela Chibana (48kg), Jéssica Pereira (52kg), Flávia Gomes (57kg), Samantha Soares (78kg), Sibilla Faccholli (+78 kg), Caio Brígida (73kg) and Ruan Silva (+100 kg). By this performance, the Brazilian team was the delegation who went more often to the podium in the competition.
\"I cannot describe in words the happiness of winning the gold. I thank God for another medal and to the BJC’s whole staff and to my club Palmeiras / Mogi. Now I have to focus on one more good result in Berlin. “said the champion Vitor Torrente.
The sixteen athletes who fly to Berlin in order to participate in this fourth stage of the International Junior Tournament with all expenses paid by the Ministry of Sport and BJC, compete in one more European Cup on August the 3rd and 4th. After the competition, they will participate in a training camp until August the 8th, when they go back to Brazil. The activities are part of the preparation for the World Junior Championship which will take place from October the 24th to October the 27th in Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia.
As part of the preparation for the most important tournament of the year, a coaching tournament is expected to be carried out for two weeks in Japan, from September 6th to September the 21st.
