Sarah Menezes Is Starring the Campaign against Domestic Violence
Sarah Menezes has joined the Public Ministry of Piauí in the fight against the domestic violence affecting the women. On July 1st, the athlete recorded a "spot" radio for the new campaign of the Center of Defense and Justice for the Women Victims of Domestic Violence (NUPEVID), responsible for the material. The spot was recorded in the ComRádio studio, in partnership with Santo Augustinho College that supports Sarah. All the involved people provided their services for free, considering the importance of this for the society from Piauí.
Sarah Menezes was chosen so that all women could reflect themselves in a national reference. The spot starts going on air in July in several cities from Piauí and the campaign is supposed to be heard by as many people as possible, within the project Maria da Penha Law.
The goal of this is making the population from Piauí aware of the violence against women and the radio campaign intends to reach a considerable number of municipalities across the project’s partner stations.
"This is a quick and efficient way to get to more distant cities, where people have less access to information," explains the NUPEVID’s psychologist, Cynara Veras.
