Leandro Guilheiro Takes Part in an Event in Rio de Janeiro

The Olympic medalist taught judo at a city school and signed autographs for children

The Olympic medalist Leandro Guilheiro will not take part in the World Championship due to his injury. However, the judoka used the time away from the mat to teach his knowledge and experience to 45 young athletes from a school in Rio de Janeiro. Wednesday afternoon, 21/08, he taught a judo class sponsored by Mizuno, at the Centaur Full Size Shop, in Barra da Tijuca.

The judoka has taught some techniques and gave autographs for an hour. Besides, he raffled a couple of shirts autographed by the Brazilian team who competed in the London Olympics. The athlete took also the afternoon opportunity to send a positive message to his peers who will compete in the World Judo Championship of Rio and he talked about the tournament.

\"I think the Brazilian team is the one who prepared better for this world event. Therefore, we have chances to win medals in all categories, maybe even two medals in some of them. All of them know what to do on the mat; I wish them a good luck “said Leandro Guilheiro.

\"Since this is the beginning of a cycle, there are many selections I have not seen fighting, there are a lot of people in charge of several tasks, so I cannot point any favorites, but I am hardly waiting to see how the Japanese selection is fighting, they didn’t quite fight in 2013\" analyzes Leandro .
