Central Bank Releases the First Batch of Commemorative Rio 2016 Coins

The coins which refer to judo will be available in 2015

This Friday, November 28th, the first commemorative coins Rio 2016 were made available. Central Bank prepared nine models of the event in Rio de Janeiro. By 2016, all 36 coins will be made available.

"The launch of commemorative coins of the Games is the perennial record of a historic moment for our country as well as for Brazilian society and Rio de Janeiro", stated Alexander Tombini, the President of the Central Bank.

The judo fans, however, will have to wait a bit for the coins honoring this sport. Their release is due in August 2015, when the third batch will be shown. Football, volleyball and paralympic athletics will also be in this batch.
