Brazilians Prepare with the Renowned French Coach, Michel Brousse
The First International Judo Development Stage was organized by the Brazilian Olympic Institute from April 24th to April 30th.
One of the great names of the world judo, the French Michel Brousse, was in Brazil last week to teach for the First International Judo Development Stage for the coaches of the Brazilian Coaching Academy (ABT). Promoted by the Brazilian Olympic Institute, the course took place from April 24th to 30th in the Training Center of Time Brasil, located in Barra da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro. This course was one more stage of the Course of High Performance Sport delivered by ABT.
There were 24 coaches who participated in the course: Allan Dias, Ana Karina Oliveira, Antonio Viana, Carlos Alberto do Carmo, Christian Alderete, Daniel Loto, Dazio Cunha, Elizabeth Nascimento, Erico Velloso, Leonardo Lara, Luiz Bayard, Marcelo Gomes, Marcelo dos Santos Maria José Sousa, Milton da Silva, José Octavio Braga, Oumar Cassol, Raphael Moura Silva, Renata Pati, Ricardo dos Santos, Rodrigo Mulatinho, Rogério Silva Quintela, Silvana Nagai and Tiago Leite. The Brazilian Judo Confederation was represented at the event by the coaching assistant of High Performance, Bernardo Seabra, who was in charge of the translation from and into French during the course.
The activities, divided into practice and theory, were focused on sports development in which the trainer works on the initial training of young athletes through general movements, aiming to expand their motor repertoire and to identify their potential.
Michel Brousse is 7th dan and when he was an athlete, he won the gold medal in the World Military Championship held in 1974 in Rio de Janeiro as well as the title of the 1977 World Championship, held in Hungary and he climbed some podiums in European competitions. Currently, he works as a professor at the University of Bordeaux and since 1998 he has been a member of the Board of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
