Brazilians Travel to Judo for All

Next week, more precisely on 12/11, four Brazilians board to Venary from the Netherlands and they will compete next weekend (16 and 17/11) when is held the seventh edition of the International Shenshu Tournament, one of the stages of Judo for All. The tournament was designed so that athletes with intellectual disabilities be included in the competitive environment, especially in judo, Paralympic Games, given the fact that this sport is practiced only by judokas with some degree of visual impairment.

“The competition is organized by Sportinstituut Verhagen and happens every two years. It is named like that because “Shenshu” is the Japanese word for “champion” as we see all the participants! \"said the team\'s coach , Ricardo Lucio .

Yves Dupont ( SOGIPA / RS , Down Syndrome ) , Nicola Sasso ( SION / RJ , Smith Magenis Syndrome ) and Antonio Lima ( SION / RJ , X Fragile Syndrome ) are the athletes who will defend the colors of Brazil . They will be led by the head of delegation, the coach Ricardo Lucio.

While Antônio was in Ravenna competing in the Italian stage Judo for All and almost won a medal, getting on the fifth place, Yves and Nicola participate for the first time in international competitions. Besides the Brazilian judokas, Germans, Italians, Belgians, British, French and Dutch will also be on the mats of the competition.

The Brazilian Judo Confederation is providing everything is necessary to athletes when it comes to sports equipment.
