Brazil Wins International Challenges against Argentina and Colombia

Shortly after the second stage of the Selection Contest for Rio 2016, the athletes who had a good performance in the championship were summoned by the technical committee to represent Brazil in the International Challenge. The male Brazilian representatives were Vinicius Sakamoto, Marcelo Contini, Gustavo Assis, Eduardo Santos and Gabriel Souza and they defeated their Argentinian counterparts Laureano Martin, Alejandro Claro, Emmanuel Lucenti, Cristian Schmidt and Héctor Campos by five to zero.

The female Brazilian representatives were Raquel Silva, Erika Ferreira, Adriana Souza and Rochele defeated their Colombian counterparts Sarah Marcela, Brigitte Carabali, Carolina Caicedo and Estefânia Taborda. Flavia Gomes lost to Yadinys Amaris. The final score showed 4-1 for the Brazilian judokas.
