World ranking is updated after the Rio Grand Slam
The International Judo Federation released the latest update of the world ranking after the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro, last week. Hugo Pessanha (-90kg) is now the best rated Brazilian, in fourth place with 804 points. Silver medalist of the Grand Slam, Maia Suellen Althaman (+78kg) has gained 12 positions and is now in 17th place.

The Brazilian that has gained the most positions in the IJF’s world ranking is Phelipe Pelim (-60kg) reached the round of sixteen and gained 20 positions.
