The Brazilian Judo Team Arrives in Brazil and Starts Preparing for Their Next Challenges

The delegation representing Brazil in Astana 2015  World Championships came home on Tuesday, September 1st, with two bronze medals and started thinking of the next competitions. On September 27th, the Brazilian team composed of five athletes will fight against Germany in Rio de Janeiro, at Super BRA Challenge, a friendly event which is part of Brazil Judo World Tour.

BJC’s Performance Director, Ney Wilson, who landed in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday morning together with the Brazilian delegation, spoke about the World Championship and has already started thinking of the national team’s next commitments.

"The team has a great potential, but their outcome was quite sad," he said. "But we are judokas, take an ippon, rise and go further. This is the philosophy. We have around 300 days. I am sure we will have a brilliant performance in 2016."

In addition to the BRA Super Challenge, the team’s agenda still has important competitions on it by the end of the year such as the World Military Games, the Grand Slam in Paris and the Grand Slam of Abu Dhabi, all in October.
