Watch: Brazil Fights for Eight Medals in the Final Block of the First Day in Moscow

Ketleyn Quadros was defeated by Ippon by the German judoka Myriam Roper and she ended up with the silver; this way Brazil got its seventh medal in the Grand Slam from Moscow.

Gold medal for Charles Chibana! The Brazilian applied two Wazaris, which is an automatic Ippon, to the British athlete Colin Oates and thus, he got Brazil’s second gold!

Erika Miranda was defeated by Uchimata and Ippon by the Finn judoka Jaana Sundberg. It\'s silver for Erika!

Felipe Kitadai was defeated by Ippon of Uchimata by the Georgian Amiran Papinashvili and so he got the silver medal.

Gold medal for Sarah Menezes! The Olympic champion had fewer penalties and defeated the Mongolian Otgontsetseg Galdabrakh; she managed being awarded the first Brazilian gold in GS Moscow!

Luiz Revite got a bronze medal! The Brazilian applied Ippon to the Azerbaijani Nijat Shikhalizada and got the first Brazilian medal at the Grand Slam.

Rafaela Silva won over the Azerbaijani Kifayat Gasimova by having a Shido less and got Brazil’s second bronze medal in Moscow.

Mariana Silva lost to the German Martyna Trajdos by Ippon, after suffering immobilization. Fifth place for Mariana!

There are eight Brazilian athletes fighting for medals on the first day of the Grand Slam from Moscow. There will be five athletes fighting for gold, while three judokas will fight for bronze.

The Gold will be targeted by Sarah Menezes (48kg) against the Mongol Otgontsetseg Galdabrakh; Felipe Kitadai fights against the Georgian Amiran Papinashvili; Erika Miranda against the Finn Jaana Sundberg; Charles Chibana against the British Colin Oates, and Ketleyn Qaudros will face the Germany Myriam Roper. 

In the fight for bronze medals, Luiz Revite will  face the Azerbaijani Nijat Shikhalizada; Rafaela Silva the Azerbaijani Kifayat Gasimova, and Mariana Silva the Israeli Yarden Gerbi.

The other Brazilians did not get in the fights for medals. Eric Takabatake (48kg) was defeated in his first fight by the Dutch Jeroen Mooren by Wazari in the Golden Score; similarly, Eleudis Valentim (52kg) was defeated by a Dutch - Birgit Ente – also by Wazari; Bruno Mendonça (73kg) did not manage to win the first fight, and lost by Yuko and Wazari to the Russian Denis Iartcev; Marcelo Contini (73kg) won by Ippon the fight against the British Jan Gosiewski, but the Georgian Zebeda Rekhviashvili defeated him; Katherine Campos (63kg) did not win the first fight either, being defeated by the home judoka, the Russian Pari Surakatova.
