The Brazilian Judo Is News in Two of the World's TV Networks

The Training Camp attended by 10 countries besides Brazil which is organized by BJC begins on Tuesday, but the international press keeps an eye on the training of the judo selection targeting the Games Rio 2016. Last Thursday, January 22nd, some teams of the British TV network BBC and the Japanese NHK, two of the world's largest ones, covered the routine training of the senior athletes who live in Rio de Janeiro and led by the coach Yuko Fujii. The athletes trained in the Combat Sports Training Centre Time Brasil, the Olympic Committee of Brazil.

The BBC team consisted of the reporter Nick Hope, the cameraman Paul Redgrove and the producer Bruce. NHK came with an even larger team, composed of the reporter Shuichiro Haraguchi, the cameraman Michihiro Kuwahara, the assistant Lilian Migliorini and the producer / translator Naoko Takahashi. The two stations were interested in showing the preparation of the Brazilians and some interesting stories such as the world champion in 2013, Rafaela Silva’s, who was interviewed by both. The coach Yuko gave an interview to NHK, while Victor Penalber spoke to the BBC.

The athletes talked about the opportunity to fight in the Olympic Games at home, the nervousness, confidence and preparation for this moment. Both posed for the lens of the BBC with the Brazilian flag. As a friendship symbol, the Japanese representatives of NHK gave to Rafaela Silva a key chain of the station’s mascot and a mousepad with Mount Fuji design, one of the beautiful postcards of the land of the rising sun.
