The Brazil Judo World Tour website is up!
The official website of the Brazilian stages of the Judo World Circuit, the Brazil Judo World Tour 2010, is already up. A www.bjwt.com.br the judo lovers and journalists will be able to find out every detail of the Grand Slam in Rio and the World Cup in São Paulo. The Grand Slam will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of May, in Maracanãzinho, while the World Cup in São Paulo will be happening on the following weekend, in the Hebraica’s Gymnasium.

The site has new features. For this year there will be a menu in Spanish as well as a version in English. The decision to include a new language was based on the statistics of access of the website in 2009. Over 65% of visits came from countries in South and Central Americas, besides Spain.

“The amount of countries of Pan-America visiting is impressive, it has surpassed the United States. This is why we have added a version in their language (Spanish), hoping to make it easier for them to access the site. Moreover, we have a simpler domain using the initials of the Brazil Judo World Tour in hopes of getting more visits”, explained Fábio Vasconcelos, responsible for the Information Technology department of the Brazilian Judo Confederation.

People who visit the Brazilian Judo World Tour (BJWT) site will have easy and direct access to information regarding all the events. They will also be able to read news, navigate through the photo and video galleries, have information on TV broadcast, official program of the events, amongst others. Moreover, the Brazilian Judo Confederation Communication team will be updating live their Twitter and Facebook profiles.

“Our goal is to get closer to everyone who is interested in judo and that is why we are using new tools and different platforms. The internet is already the third most powerful medium in the world, after Newspapers and TV, and we cannot stay out of this process. This also means revamping our image”, said Manoela Penna, communication coordinator of BJC. “We are always looking for more interactivity with our site’s users”, she added.
