Rosicleia Campos Speaks About the Training Load from Austria
The coach of the Brazilian women's team has also compared the activities in Europe to the next training from Saquarema, Brazil.
The Brazilian national judo is concentrated in Mittersill, Austria, where they have been taking part in the International Training Camp since January 7th. This is the first activity of the 2015 season for the Brazilian athletes. They will come back on January 17th, but on January 27th they will start another training camp, this time in Saquarema, Região dos Lagos, Rio de Janeiro.
Attended by about 700 athletes from 45 countries from all continents represented, the Austrian event is the biggest training camp in Europe. This edition is even attended by big world judo names such as Sabrina Filzmoser (AUT), Kayla Harrison (USA), Yarden Gerbi (ISR), Majlinda Kelmendi (IJF / KOS), Lukas Krpalek (CZE), Ilias Iliadis (GRE), among others. There will be many activities divided into two periods during the ten days.
The coach of the Brazilian senior women's team, Rosicleia Campos spoke about the importance of this training in the beginning of the season and compared the training style from Austria to the one which will take place in Saquarema in late January.
"The pace here is very strong and the athletes have to train a lot," she said. "In Saquarema there will be a more technical training.
The Brazilian delegation that went to Austria was composed of 22 judokas, men and women. In Saquarema this number will be higher, as usual, and the team will consist of 61 seniors and 25 juniors. There are 11 more countries that have confirmed their attendance in the activities run until February 5th.
