Raquel Silva, Eric Takabatake and Rafael Buzacarini Are Gold Awarded in Santiago
In the first post-World Judo Championship competition, Brazil wins gold with all its representatives
This Saturday (7/9), the Open Santiago competition was held in Chile. Brazil had three representatives and three gold medals, that this was the first commitment of the Brazilian team after their outstanding performance in World Judo Championship Rio 2013: Raquel Silva (57kg, Reação Institute/ RJ), Eric Takabatake (60kg, EC Pinheiros /SP) and Rafael Buzacarini (100kg, AD São Caetano/SP) were the responsible judokas for making the Brazilian national anthem be played three times in the Deutsche Schule Venue.
\"I consider it a very important title, because since the Universiade, I have not been fighting internationally. It\'s good to pick up the pace, because I have two very strong competitions ahead, GPs of Almaty and Tashkent, and I hope to get there well-prepared, \"said the Open champion, Rafael Buzacarini.
In the decision, Rafael Buzacarini overcame Jason Koster from New Zealand, Eric Takabatake defeated Gabriel Sabatino from Argentina whereas Raquel Silva won over Nolween Le Troadec from France. The coach of the national team who participated in this competition was Danielle Zangrando.
