Leandro Guilheiro will represent Brazil at the GP in Tunisia
The 2010 Paris Grand Slam champion and Olympic medalist Leandro Guilheiro will represent Brazil this weekend in the Grand Prix in Tunisia, leg of the Judo World Circuit, which opens the ranking for the Olympic Games in London 2012. Leandro will compete on Saturday (8) in the -81kg category.

The Tunisian Grand Prix is the first international competition Leadro Guilheiro will be taking part since Paris. The judoka sees the tournament as an opportunity to prepare for the following events of the season and also the gain point on the world ranking. To date, Guilheiro has 420 point on the 11th position. At the GP in Tunisia, the gold medal is worth 200 points, silver 120 and bronze 80.

“It will be a good opportunity to win points and also it will be an interesting test for the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro. I believe that the level of competition will be high”, said Leandro Guilheiro.

The judoka will have an unprecedented experience in his career. For the first time he will be the only Brazilian athlete in a competition.

“I’m curious to see how things will GO, because during my career I always traveled with team mate. It will be weird to not have another athlete to share a ruoom and tak or help during warm-up. But, like everything else, I know it will be a valid new experience”, commented Guilheiro.
