Judokas Act in TV Series on Olympics

How is the training of a high performance athlete? How to deal with pain, expectations and pre-Olympics pressure? These and other questions will be answered in a documentary series named "The Vacant Position" by Rodrigo Meirelles, broadcast this Thursday, December 11th, for the first time, at 11h00 pm, on HBO.

The series’ production team has joined the athletes from several Olympic sports, judo including, while they were preparing. During a year, all the moments of the athletes’ day-to day lives were recorded: how they live, where they train and with whom those who seek the long awaited Olympic position live.

Among the main characters of this story are four Brazilian judokas: Leandro Guilheiro, Victor Penalber, Luiz Revite and Charles Chibana. That means this is full plate for a judo fan and also for somebody who wants to learn more about our warriors’ lives.

The first episode, to be broadcast on Thursday, will bring together athletes, coaches and members of the confederations explaining each type of sport, recalling relevant facts and mainly describing their expectations for Rio 2016 Games. Each episode last one hour and the next rerun of the first episode will be on Friday, December 12th, at 05:00 pm, on HBO 2.
