Brazilians Take Part this Thursday in the Last Session of the Training Camp in Austria
Felipe Kitadai was chosen to perform the final bow in Brazil’s last training session.
The members of the Brazilian Judo Team said goodbye today to Europe's largest training camp held in Mittersill, Austria. They have been concentrated there since January 7th and now the athletes are ready to come back on Friday, January 16th and get home on Saturday.
There were nine days of hard training together with high-level athletes of many foreign selections. This was the first time Brazil participated in this exchange in Austria, where our judokas could enhance both their technical and the physical parts and train with some of their future opponents in international competitions.
Bronze-awarded in the London Olympics 2012, Felipe Kitadai was invited to the final greeting in the last training session and welcomed for the opportunity on his social networks.
"Today something surprising happened to me! At the end of every practice we perform a greeting that means many things such as the gratitude towards our training fellows, coaches and a great workout. And I was invited to perform this last farewell of this training camp. It's a huge honor for me! I will never forget it! Thank you my idols, Sabrina Filzmoser and Ludwig Paischer! "Kitadai wrote.
This type of greeting is one of the judo’s traditions and it is usually performed by the most graduated judoka attending the training. It is his responsibility to greet the teachers and the judo creator, Jigoro Kano.
The next appointment of the senior national team is the International Training Camp in Saquarema, from January 25th to February 7th. The activity will count on about 200 athletes coming from 11 different countries, including Olympics and world awarded judokas.
