Brazilian team defined for the Grand Slam and World Cup
The Brazilian Judo Team is defined for the dispute of the Rio de Janeiro Grand Slam and the São Paulo World Cup, stages of the World Circuit of the International Judo Federation that are worth points on the world ranking that will classify for the Olympic Games in London in 2012. The Grand Slam will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of May, at Maracanãzinho, while the World Cup will be at Hebraica a week later, on the 29th and 30th. To date there are 319 athletes from 28 countries taking part in the events such as Japan, Holland, China, Russia and France.

Because Brazil will be hosting the events, it is allowed to entry four teams in both female and male categories. Amongst the athletes representing Brazil are olympiand and world champions. The other countries are allowed to entry only two athletes per category. Some of the main international judo stars have already confirmed their presence like the heavy weight two times champion of the world Teddy Rinner from France.
