Brazil wins Judo International Challenge in Vitória (Brazil)
Before, during the semifinal, Brazil passed by England by 5 to 1, same result as France against Portugal.
Next Saturday (20), the teams will face each other again, this time in Betim (Minas Gerais, Brazil).
“These Challenges are excellent to get us closer to the Brazilian supporters. The crowd in Vitória did well showing up in great numbers to support the Brazilian team. These competitions also help us keep the rhythm to the next events like the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro and the World Cup in São Paulo”, said Tiago Camilo, champion of the world and Olympic medalist in Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008.
The home factor has given Nacif Elias extra strength. With about one thousand people screaming his name, Nacif won both of his fights by ippon.
“I owe everything that I have conquered in my life to the people in Vitória, who has never let me down and always supported me. Now is time to focus on the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro and the World Cup in São Paulo to dream of a place at the World Championship. I’m glad and touched to be fighting here”, guaranteed and emotional Nacif.
