BJC Organizes the Largest International Training in Brazil

Saquarema / RJ hosts 150 athletes from 10 countries between March 12th and 23rd. Among them, there are 13 Olympic medalists and 22 world medalists.

Some of the most important judo world athletes will be in Saquarema / RJ, March 12th -23rd for the largest International Training organized by the Brazilian Judo Confederation. The event was realized in partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee. There will be on the same mat 150 judokas from ten different countries: Brazil (senior and junior staff), France, Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Slovenia, Finland, Portugal, Angola and Mongolia. Among the participants there will gather at the Center for Development of Volleyball no fewer than 13 Olympic medalists and 22 world medalists.

“This training will be a milestone for the Brazilian judo. We are working to make this event become fixed in the calendar of the International Judo Federation and thus we extend an even greater exchange among Brazilian athletes and the best world judokas , \"said the president of the BJC, Paulo Wanderley Teixeira .

Among the big names who will be attending are the Olympic medalists Priscilla Gneto, bronze in the 2012 London Games ; Automne Pavia , bronze in the 2012 London Games ; Henk Grol , bronze in Beijing 2008 and London 2012; Urska Zolnir , Olympic champion in London , and the Brazilians Sarah Menezes, Olympic champion in London 2012; Ketleyn Quadros, bronze in Beijing 2008; Mayra Aguiar , bronze in London 2012; Felipe Kitadai , bronze in London 2012; Leandro Guilheiro, bronze in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, Tiago Camilo , silver in Sydney 2000 and bronze in Beijing 2008 , and Rafael Silva, bronze in London 2012.

Besides them, many will be many medalists at World Championships such as Clarisse Agbegnenou, silver in the last World championship; Gévrise Emane, 4 times world medalist (gold in Rio 2007 and in Paris 2011 , silver in Cairo 2005 and bronze in Rio 2013); Madeleine Malonga bronze at the last World Junior; Audrey Tcheumeo twice in World medalist ( gold in 2011 and bronze in Paris Rio 2013 ) ; Marhinde Verkerk , world champion in Rotterdam 2009 and silver in Rio 2013; Anicka van Emden , twice bronze-awarded in World Championships (Paris 2011 and Rio 2013); Dex Elmont, silver in World Championships from Tokyo 2010 and Paris 2011 and bronze in Rio 2013; Lucija Polavder , silver in the World Championships from Rio 2007; Marren Kraeh, bronze in the World Championship of Rio 2013; Miryam Roper , bronze in the World Championship of Rio 2013; Laura Vargas Koch , silver in the World Championship of Rio 2013;  Sappho Koban , world champion in Junior Championships from Ljubljana 2013 (52kg) ; Alexander Wieczerzak , bronze the World Championship of Rio 2013, Telma Monteiro , 4 times World medalist ( silver in Tokyo 2010 , Rotterdam 2009 and Rio 2007 and bronze at Cairo 2005). From Brazil , besides Tiago Camilo , world champion in Rio 2007; Sarah Menezes and Mayra Aguiar , bronze in World Rio 2013 , and Rafael Silva , silver in World Rio 2013; Luciano Correa , world champion in Rio 2007; Rafaela Silva, world champion in Rio 2013, Erika Miranda, silver in Rio 2013, and Maria Suelen Altheman , silver in World Rio 2013.

\"Brazil is today among the top world four teams, both women and men. And that\'s why we can motivate many top athletes to come to Brazil for this training. They are behind our know-how, \"said the women\'s team coach Rosicleia Campos.

The training will also be special for the young talents of the Brazilian judo. The good performance in the National Selective Junior and Cadet Teams gave a chance to attend the event. There are 26 athletes and 11 members of the technical committee of the Junior Team involved in these activities.

\"I\'m very excited ! The workouts we did in Paris were very strong and here in Brazil they will be too. They are important for this year of my career. Moreover, it will be a great preparation for the tournament from Germany in which we will participate, “said the heavyweight Sibilla Faccholli, bronze in the last World Junior Championship, meaning the Brazilian participation in the World Junior Circuit - Stage 2. The women\'s team trains and competes in the town of Bad Blamkenburg and the men in Bremen.
