The women's team competes in Prague, while the men’s is fighting next weekend in Warsaw.

After Their Training in Dusseldorf, the National Team Goes to the European Open Championships

After the three-day training in Dusseldorf run at the end of the Grand Prix, the male and female Brazilian teams boarded on Thursday for the Eastern Europe where two important competitions are taking place: the women’s European Open Prague and the men’s European Open Warsaw.  The competition in the Czech capital will be held in one day, on Saturday, February 28th. The draw takes place on Friday.

"We’ve landed. On Saturday we will be fighting in the Open Prague! Let’s go! ", posted the women’s coach Rosicleia Campos on her social page.

"We’ve got in Prague! Let’s go to our next competition! Me and my partne, "posted the heavyweight Rochelle Nunes in the caption of a photo in which she appears next to the half-heavyweight Samanta Soares.

In Prague, Brazil will be represented by eight athletes: Gabriela Chibana (48kg), Jessica Pereira (52kg), Ketleyn Quadros (63kg), Mariana Silva (63kg), Danielle Karla Oliveira (63kg), Barbara Timo (70kg), Samanta Soares (78kg) and Rochelle Nunes (+ 78kg).

The European Open of Warsaw, on the other hand, will be disputed by the extra-light, half-light and light categories on Saturday and the other weight categories on Sunday. The selection will consist of the same athletes who competed last weekend, in the Grand Prix in Dusseldorf: Eric Takabatake (60kg), Phelipe Pelim (60kg), Ricardo Santos Jr (66kg), Alex Pombo (73kg), Marcelo Contini (73kg) Leandro Guilheiro (81kg), Felipe Costa (81kg), Eduardo Bettoni (90kg), Luciano Correa (100kg), Rafael Buzacarini (100kg) and Walter Santos (+ 100kg).

"The level of competition is very high but I trained hard in Dusseldorf in order to get ready for this competition. I hope to give my best and become the winner of this stage. Tomorrow we will know the keys of this new challenge, “Eduardo Bettoni said, reminding that the draw of the keys from both championships takes place this Friday, February 27th.

The women's team is led by the coaches Rosicleia Campos and Mario Tsutsui, the physical therapist Roberta Mattar and the nutritionist Gisele Lemos. The men’s team is composed of Luiz Shinohara and Fulvio Miyata and they are joined by the massage therapist Hans Peter Strubreiter.
