The Pan-American Judo Center Will be Opened on Monday

The works of the Pan American Judo Center (CPJ) came to an end. After nine months, the State Department of Labor, Employment, Income and Sports (Setre) of Bahia will deliver the largest training center throughout America to the Brazilian Judo Confederation (BJC), next Monday, July 28th, at 10:30 am. The ceremony will be attended by the BJC’s President, Paulo Wanderley Teixeira, the state governor Jaques Wagner, and the Minister of Sport, Aldo Rabelo.

Located in Lauro de Freiras, in the metropolitan region of Salvador City, PJC occupies an area of ​​20 thousand square meters and consists of three buildings, containing air-conditioned gym with eight official areas for training and four for competition, being able to gather around two thousand people. It also has a training and physical recovery center for the athletes and a parking area with 325 spaces; the administrative structure is provided with a restaurant, a judo museum, a professional training center, an auditorium for 200 people, a VIP room and a training center; the accommodation part has ten suites, 12 twin rooms, eight quadruple and a games room; a swimming pool; a sports court; and a 100 yards-racetrack with four lanes for the athletes’ warming.

PJC will be used in the preparation of the judo athletes from the Pan American countries that will participate in the 2016 Olympic Games. Starting from Monday, BJC is free to install the necessary equipment and then mark the space’s opening, scheduled for November this year.
