The Coach of the Cuban Team Visits BJC
The coach of the Cuban male team, Justo Noda, visited on Tuesday the headquarters of the Brazilian Judo Confederation in Rio de Janeiro. The legendary multi-champion coach, black belt and 7th Dan, has been in Rio since last Thursday, when his team faced the Brazilian in the International Contest; the competition was won by Brazil. In the marvelous city, the Cuba National Team is training for the World Championships; Noda believes it will be a success.
\"Rio de Janeiro has all the conditions required to hold a fantastic World event. It\'s a large and structured city, provided with all the necessary equipment for hosting any major sports event, “Noda said.
He has been leading the Cuban team for more than thirty years and he stated that it is time for the Cuban men\'s team be redefined.
\"We will search in the World Championship for some experience. We have only two athletes used to take part in World competitions (Oscar Brayson and Asley Gonzalez) and the rest of the team is talented, but very young. We will be happy if we get a medal, “the coach said.
As to the visit, Justo Noda was delighted with the structure of the Brazilian Confederation.
\"The structure is fantastic. I know the whole world and I can say that BJC is as good as any other confederation. Besides being spectacular thanks to its athletes and staff, it has always given us the support we need for our working evolution, “Noda said.
The Cuban team is now taking part to a training period in Salvador.
