The meeting took place on Friday in Rio de Janeiro and was attended by some leaders of Brazilian confederations.

Representing the Brazilian Judo Confederation, the President Paulo Wanderley Teixeira participated in a meeting with the Minister of Sport, George Hilton, and leaders of the Olympic Committee of Brazil (COB) along with other representatives of confederations on Friday morning, in Rio de Janeiro. The event’s goal was talking about preparing the Brazilian sport for the Olympics Rio 2016.

Together with Ricardo Leyser who is the Secretary of High Yield Sport of the Ministry of Sports, George Hilton reiterated the support that the federal government has given to sport and spoke about the several programs supported by Federal Government funds, such as Plano Brasil Medalhas, Bolsa Pódio, Bolsa-Atleta, among others.

"We are here to offer you the best possible conditions to take care of the Brazilian sports management," he said. "We are aware that the final role of the sports-related operation is the confederations’," added the minister while stating to be willing to cooperate in order to make the sport be practiced in mass by Brazilians.

"He (George Hilton) sent a message of peace and security to the sports community, declaring him to be open to dialogue and partnership work. This, in the sports manager’s point of view, is very important and very positive," Paulo Wanderley stated.

Next week, Hilton will submit to the President Dilma Rousseff a project regarding a national sports policy. One of the plan's suggestions is creating a national fund for the development of the sport.
