Paulo Wanderley celebrates Rio 2016
The president of the Brazilian Judo Confederation was thrilled with the choice of the International Olympic Committee to hold the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Paulo Wanderley Teixeira is betting that the Brazilian judo can, in 2016, have their best Olympics ever.

“It will be the moment f maturity for Brazil and its sports management. We have hosted South-American, Pan-American Games and World Championships. It was about time that we had the chance to host the Olympic Games. After this first moment of euphoria, we will begin to work hard to make Rio 2016 the greatest Games in history. It is a victory for the entire continent, which will be able to see up close the biggest sports celebration in the world. I believe that seven years is enough time for the Brazilian judo to have their best participation in an Olympic Games ever. I would like to congratulate President Lula, the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Sérgio Cabral, Mayor Eduardo Paes and the president of the Brazilian Olympic Committee, Carlos Arthur Nuzman”.
