Producers, technicians and employees from several areas of the Brazilian Judo Confederation represent more than 300 people involved in the venue’s assembly. Besides almost 800 athletes, the place will daily host almost 500 reporters, 300 workers and about 10 thousand fans.
16 cabins will be built for hosting the audience, sponsors and federations. Additionally, the staff will build warming rooms and a restaurant for the athletes; the restaurant will be able to provide 700 meals per day.
\"Judo’s philosophy involves seriousness and perfectionism. When organizing an event that will bring together the biggest names in the sport, paying attention to details is essential and this is our biggest challenge in this world event, \"says Laura Almeida, the architect of the Organizing Committee of the World Judo Championship Rio 2013.
There will be nine days of competitions. The World Championship takes place from August 26th to September 1st, but on August the 23rd and 24th Maracanãzinho will host the Brazilian Under 23 Championship which will count on the structure of the World Championship.
